A Day in the Life of a Butterfly
Today we are not children anymore. Each one of you should imagine
yourself as a little egg on the top of a leaf.
At this point your about the size of a pencil eraser. Feel the warm sun
rise from the east and its rays beaming down on your egg which has been
attached to a small green leaf.
You stay in this position for several days as you feel yourself growing
inside. You are a larva in this egg and are slowly beginning to look
like a real butterfly.
The sun continues to warm you and sometimes it rains. When this happens,
all you can do is hope that the egg does not fall off the leaf.
Eventually, you come out of the egg and spin your cocoon.
This is where you will metamorphosize so you make your cocoon as
comfortable as possible.
You will be spending alot of time there for the next few days/weeks.
Finally the time has come, you climb out of the cocoon.
Look at you!!! You are a butterfly!!! You are the most beautiful one.
You sit on the leaf and allow your wings to dry before you try them out.
Then you're ready. You try out those beautiful wings of yours and you
glide gracefully through the air.
The day is beautiful and the sun is out. You spend all day flying
through the air and eventually you and all the other butterflies decide
to migrate. You must leave your home and fly south.
Now, slowly open your eyes and think about everything that has happened
to you.
