I arrive at dusk.
The Mountain cabin seems quiet,
almost lifeless
Mountains pierce the skies
she sits, stares at me
from the dark
The curtains move inside dirty windows.
The door opens as I climb the wooden steps.
Invisible eyes greet
steps moan my presence
door open, waits to swallow me
I step inside and immediately I feel the dread.
As my eyes focus,
the unshakable feeling of being watched washes over me.
Darkness embraces me
eyes all around
banister grows from the gloom
I hear a blood curdling scream.
Looking up,
I see her,
transparent,
growing near.
Dead eyes find my own
gown flows, she sings
a song of pain
I turn to run and watch the outside disappear
behind the slamming door.
I close my eyes and wait for death.
House swallows me
screams of death
fall on uncaring eyes.
